About the Journal

About Renai: Renai is a journal that has been published since 2000 by PERCIK Institute in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia. In line with its vision and mission, the institute has conducted various research and advocacy in the fields of social sciences and humanities, organized training programs, supported community empowerment, advocated for legal awareness, democracy, and social justice, provided assistance in conflict resolution, and published various publications.

The editorial board openly invites individuals from all backgrounds to submit their research findings in the fields of Democracy and Governance, Plural and Inclusive Society, Health Coverage and Societal Wellbeing, and Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability. Submitted articles will undergo a blind-review process and will be published twice a year.

The focus and scope of the journal include but not limited to:

1.      Democracy and Governance

This scope covers research that examines the foundations of democracy, governance structures, and public accountability. It includes studies that investigate citizen engagement, policy development, public administration, and political transparency. The emphasis is on exploring how governance systems can cultivate inclusive participation, ethical leadership, and policy reforms that strengthen democratic values. 2.      Plural and Inclusive Society

The research investigates how various cultural identities function within social, political, and economic frameworks. Relevant topics include intercultural dialogue, minority rights, religious coexistence, and policies that promote harmony and mutual respect. 3.      Health Coverage and Societal Wellbeing

This scope examines research on formulating, implementing, and evaluating health policies aimed at enhancing societal well-being, prioritizing equity and accessibility. It encompasses studies exploring healthcare reform, preventive measures, public health governance, and community-based initiatives. This section particularly values research investigating health disparities, mental health services, and policies promoting universal health coverage. Additionally, this area encourages studies exploring the intersection of health policy with social determinants of health, ethical considerations in healthcare, and approaches to improving health outcomes for marginalized populations.

4.      Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability

This focus spotlights the pressing need to address environmental sustainability, climate action, and ecological stewardship within the broader social and political landscapes. It covers a range of progressive policies and practical initiatives aimed at curbing environmental degradation, promoting resource conservation, and advancing sustainable development goals. Research topics include innovative approaches to climate governance, resource management, pollution control, and community-driven environmental initiatives.
