Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit a manuscript should pay attention to the points below. If the manuscript does not meet the requirements listed, it is likely to be returned.

  1. Submissions have not been previously published, or are under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has not been provided in comments to the editor).
  2. Manuscripts should be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for references should be provided.Text should be single-spaced; font 12; italicized; not underlined (except for URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables should be placed within the text at appropriate points, not at the end.
  4. The text should comply with the bibliography and style requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which will be found on the About Us page.
  5. If acceptance is for peer-reviewed sections of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring Anonymous Reviewers have been followed.

Agreement on License and Copyright

In submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Renai, the authors declare that:

  • They have been authorized by their co-authors to take part in this arrangement.

  • The work described has not been previously published formally, except in abstract form or as part of a published lecture, review, thesis, or overlay journal.

  • That the work is not under consideration for publication elsewhere,

  • That its publication has been approved by all authors and by a competent authority – implicitly or explicitly – from the institution where the work was done.

  • They guarantee the right to reproduce material that has been published or protected by copyright elsewhere.

  • They agree to this license and copyright agreement.

Authors who publish their work in Renai Journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under

    Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License so that others can share the work with credit for the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. The licensor permits others to make and distribute derivative works, but only under the same or a compatible license.

  4. Before and during the submission process, authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in an institutional repository or on their website). Such postings can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and larger citations.

Other data publishing licenses may be permitted as exceptions (subject to editorial approval on a case-by-case basis) and must be confirmed by a written statement from the author to be published with the article.

This journal strives to maximize the replicability of published research. Therefore, authors are required to share all data, code, or protocols underlying the research reported in their articles. Exceptions are permitted but must be made clear in a written public statement accompanying the article.

Datasets and software should be permanently stored and archived in an appropriate, trusted, public, or domain-specific repository (see http://service.re3data.org and/or software repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, Bioinformatics.org, or similar).

Persistent identifiers (e.g., DOIs, etc.) of the datasets should be included in the data or software source section of the article. References to the datasets and software should also be included in the article's reference list with DOIs (if available).
