The Editorial Board of Renai Journal acknowledges that plagiarism cannot be justified. Therefore, the Editorial Board has established a policy on actions (penalties) after plagiarism/similarities are found in articles submitted for publication in Renai Journal. Renai Journal will use originality checking software, Plagiarism Checker, as a tool to detect similarities in text in article manuscripts and final versions of articles ready for publication. Submitted papers may have a maximum similarity of 20%. If we find more than 20% similarity index, the article will be returned to the author for correction and resubmission.
Definition:
Plagiarism is "the use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the restatement of them as one's own original work."
Policy:
Papers must be original, unpublished, and not awaiting publication elsewhere. Any material taken verbatim from another source must be clearly identified and distinct from the original text by (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source.
Any text exceeding the standards of fair use (i.e. more than two or three sentences or the equivalent) or any graphic material reproduced from another source must be authorized by the copyright holder and, where possible, the original author and must also be identified as to the source; for example, a previous publication.
When plagiarism is discovered, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the paper and will take action according to the level of plagiarism detected in accordance with the following guidelines:
Plagiarism Levels
Mild Plagiarism
Plagiarism is a short sentence or paragraph from another manuscript without any data; or an idea taken from another paper or publication.
Sanction: The author is given a warning and asked to change the manuscript and cite the original source correctly.
Moderate Plagiarism
Important data, paragraphs, or sentences from an article are plagiarized without proper citation from the original source.
Sanction: The submitted article is automatically rejected.
Severe Plagiarism
Most of the articles are plagiarized involving many aspects such as reproducing original results (data, formulations, equations, laws, statements, etc.), ideas, and methods presented in other publications.
Sanction: The paper is automatically rejected and the author is prohibited from resubmitting the article to Renai Journal.
